Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Extensive experience with Oracle 9.x and 10g with database plus sql tuning on sun Solaris

Exposure to oracle 10g OEM with tuning management pack.

should able to read and understand AWR/statspack report.

Should be able to use ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor).

Understanding of high availability options such as Advanced Replication, Data Guard and Streams

Experience of backup and recovery using Rman (using VERITAS NETBACKUP is preferred).

Familiar with UNIX shell scripting(K shell/c shell), UNIX command,

Install, upgrade, refresh, re-link and maintain all databases in UNIX and windows environments.

Day to day database administrative tasks, such as: proactive monitoring, error checking, performance tuning, running health checkup, trouble-shooting.

Proactive maintenance like index rebuilds, table re-orgs, partitions, purging data and space management.

Manage security and access to databases to provide controlled access environment.

Resolve client –server connectivity and ODBC issues, 24 X 7 database support
